The service

Housekeeping run as a managed department

You decide how a room should look when the guest opens the door. Our room attendants and supervisors get it there, and we carry the recruitment, rostering, payroll and replacement cover that come with them.

Housekeeping is one of the largest labour lines in a hotel. It is also the work a guest judges first. We run it as a managed department with a written standard, a daily inspection routine and a monthly report, so your rooms division spends its time on guests rather than on staffing gaps.

  • Room attendants, housepersons, public area attendants and supervisors
  • One accountable manager for the department
  • Cost that follows occupancy, invoiced on rooms actually serviced

Scope

What the service covers

Every line below can sit in one contract. Your proposal shows which ones apply to your property and how each is priced.

Departures and stayovers

Every room type, including suites, twins, zip and link conversions, rollaways and cots. Beds, linen and towels follow your linen change policy.

Bathrooms and amenities

Bathrooms serviced and sanitised, guest amenities replenished. Turndown and evening service where your brand standard calls for it.

Housepersons

Linen runs between the linen room and floor pantries, soiled linen and rubbish removal, guest requests and back of house support.

Public areas

Lobby, lifts, corridors, public washrooms and staff areas, cleaned on a set frequency through the day.

Inspections and release

Vacant room checks and supervisor inspections against your written standard. Rooms go back to front office as they pass.

Periodic and pre opening work

Deep cleans by floor, carpet care and periodic windows. Pre opening cleans for new hotels, refurbished floors and reopenings.

Linen par counts and floor pantry stock checks are included and reported to you each month.

A typical day

How a housekeeping day runs

Each shift follows the same six steps, and the number of attendants on the floor moves with occupancy.

  1. Boards from the morning report

Departure and stayover boards come straight from your property management system. VIP, early arrival and late check out rooms are flagged before anyone goes to the floor.

  2. Sections set by workload

Attendants are allocated by the time each room takes, not by a flat room count. A departure takes longer than a stayover, and a suite longer than a standard room.

  3. Inspect and release

Supervisors inspect against the written standard and update the room status in your system themselves as each room passes. Arrivals are not kept waiting on housekeeping.

  4. Do not disturb and welfare

Refused service and do not disturb rooms are recorded and revisited. Any room still on do not disturb at your cut off time is reported to the duty manager for a welfare check.

  5. Discrepancies closed same day

Where the housekeeping status and the system status disagree, the room goes on the discrepancy report and is settled with front office before the shift ends.

  6. Faults and lost property

Faults are logged with a photo for your engineering team. Lost property is logged, bagged and held for front office to release.

Rostering and price

Rostered to rooms sold, priced per room

Occupancy moves every day. A fixed roster overstaffs the quiet nights and runs short on the full ones. We build the roster from your occupancy forecast two weeks out, then confirm it the night before against the rooms on the books.

Rooms are priced per room serviced, with separate departure and stayover rates for each room type. Supervision, housepersons and public areas are agreed as fixed daily lines or hourly rates. Deep cleans, carpets and pre opening work sit on their own lines, so you can book them into soft occupancy.

Because the unit rates are set in advance, your housekeeping cost per occupied room can be forecast from occupancy and departure mix. The proposal lists what sits inside each rate, from chemicals and equipment to uniforms.

For budgeting, our guide to what hotel and motel housekeeping costs explains how per room rates are built and what moves them.

Lines on a housekeeping proposal

  • Departure rate for each room type
  • Stayover rate for each room type
  • Supervision, housepersons and public areas as daily lines or hourly rates
  • Deep cleans, carpets and pre opening work priced separately
  • Chemicals, equipment and uniforms shown inside the rate
Our people

How every team member is employed

Hotel groups are judged on how the people on their floors are treated, whoever employs them. This is how we employ every team we place in your hotel.

Employees, never contractors

Room attendants, housepersons and supervisors are employed directly by Cameron Facilities on the correct award, under a written contract in plain English.

Paid by the hour

Your hotel is invoiced per room. Our people are paid for every hour worked, at or above award rates, into their own bank account. Nothing is deducted for uniforms, tools or protective equipment.

Every shift recorded

Clock on and clock off are recorded in SiteIQ against the roster, so hours rostered, hours worked and rooms invoiced can be checked against each other.

Checked before day one

Right to work verification, reference checks, a medical assessment against the inherent requirements of the role, and police clearance where your hotel asks for it.

Modern slavery statement

We prepare a voluntary Modern Slavery Statement each year, approved by our Managing Director, and give it to your procurement team on request.

Safety and speaking up

Our safety system is certified to ISO 45001, and we coordinate shared risks with your engineering, security and duty managers. Our whistleblowing policy protects anyone who raises a concern.

Training

Signed off before the first guest room

Every attendant completes induction, your brand standard, chemical handling and safe manual handling. Then they service a mock room and are signed off individually against the inspection checklist. Only after that are they rostered on guest rooms.

Supervisors inspect against the same written checklist and every result is logged. The standard holds whichever attendant serviced the room. We plan relief and standby cover for school holidays, event weekends and the early morning sick call.

Before an attendant services a guest room

  • Company induction
  • Your brand standard, room by room type
  • Chemical handling
  • Safe manual handling
  • A mock room, inspected against the checklist and signed off individually
Transition

Taking over from your current team

Housekeeping may be in house today or with another contractor. Either way, the changeover is led by the housekeeping manager who will run your hotel, in this order.

  1. Survey

We walk the hotel with your Executive Housekeeper, time each room type, and check linen par, chemicals, equipment and floor pantries.

  2. Roster

Staffing is built from your forecast. Sections, inspection levels and room release times are agreed with your rooms division.

  3. Your team

Every current team member is invited to apply and is assessed against the role. Transfers follow the Fair Work Act transfer of business rules, confirmed in writing.

  4. Train

Induction, brand standard training and the mock room sign off are finished before the first live shift.

  5. Go live

Our manager meets your Executive Housekeeper and front office manager daily for the first month, then weekly against the monthly measures.

Live demonstration SiteIQ reporting

Every room, reported live

SiteIQ is the operations platform Cameron Facilities developed and runs itself. For a hotel it puts room status, attendant allocation, inspection results and open issues in one view, so your Director of Rooms can check progress without picking up the phone.

The live hotel housekeeping demonstration runs on illustrative sample data. Explore the room status board, departures and stayovers, inspection scores, attendant productivity and shift handover.

Reported to your rooms division each month

  • Inspection pass rate at first inspection
  • Rooms released by the agreed time
  • Stayover completion, net of do not disturb
  • Guest requests and response times
  • Complaints per 1,000 occupied rooms
  • Rooms serviced by type, the basis of the invoice

The monthly pack also covers public area audit scores, absenteeism, turnover and overtime, rooms serviced per attendant shift, linen par counts, and safety incidents and near misses.

Across WA

City hotels and regional properties

Our housekeeping teams work across Perth and regional Western Australia, in hotels, serviced apartments and visitor accommodation. In resource towns, housekeeping, linen and maintenance are often best held by one contractor.

Our certified scope also covers village accommodation management, so the systems that run a city hotel floor also run a regional property or a workforce village. See our mining camp and village services.

One contractor

Recruitment, payroll and rostering for the whole department.

Written standard

Inspected daily, reported monthly.

Periodic work included

Deep cleans, carpets, windows and building maintenance from the same team.

Local management

A Perth operation with senior managers you can call directly.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How is outsourced hotel housekeeping priced?

Per room serviced, with a departure rate and a stayover rate for each room type. Supervision, public areas, housepersons and periodic work such as deep cleans are agreed separately. The roster follows your occupancy forecast, so the monthly cost tracks rooms sold.

Are your room attendants your own employees?

Yes. They are employed directly by Cameron Facilities on the correct award and paid for every hour they work, with clock on and clock off recorded in SiteIQ. We never engage room attendants as independent contractors or pay them a rate per room.

Can you take over from an existing housekeeping team or contractor?

Yes. We survey the hotel, build the roster from your forecast and invite every member of your current team to apply. Training and the mock room sign off are completed before the first live shift.

Do you service serviced apartments and apartment hotels?

Yes. Apartment hotels need longer stay servicing, kitchenette cleaning and weekly or midweek service patterns. We roster and price those in the same way as hotel rooms.

Can you prepare a new or refurbished hotel for opening?

Yes. We carry out builders cleans and pre opening room preparation floor by floor, so rooms are handed over guest ready on the day they go on sale.

Do you provide hotel housekeeping outside Perth?

Yes. Our teams work across Perth and regional WA, and rostering, training and reporting run the same way wherever the hotel is.

Can we see the SiteIQ reporting before we sign?

Yes. The SiteIQ hotel housekeeping demonstration runs on illustrative sample data and shows room status, attendant allocation and inspection results. We can also walk your rooms division through it in person.
